As we embark on our close to summer, many will be heading out to the beach and Cape Lookout this holiday weekend. It’s important that you know that new regulations from the National Park Service that may hinder your accessiblity at Cape Lookout in the future.
Recently, Bellagurl was asked to help spread the word about these changes and make the public aware of what could be happening soon. Always eager to be an advocate for our community and the tourism that supports it, we jumped in and designed a digital marketing campaign. Our team has been attending community meetings Down East to become fully engaged in what is at state for our community so we could work alongside those forging the way to keep Cape Lookout accessible. Once the focus of the movement was decided, we created aFacebook page to raise awareness with a hashtag #FightForCapeLookout. Then, we began designing the logo and website, which launched today. We also created a petition and a way to raise funds for the cause. Soon, we’ll be working with the media to alert them of changes. Please visit the site, sign the petition and donate $5 or $10 to help. Share the website and Facebook page with everyone you know to help spread the word about these changes. We all need to do our part to protect our beaches so our children can enjoy them as we have.
