Oh, Buddy! It’s time for a surfing competition!
Each year the Buddy Pelletier Surfing Foundation holds a longboard memorial classic in remembrance of Buddy Pelletier, a true Southern gentleman who brought style, class, a giving heart, and a competitive spirit to the surfing world. “The Buddy,” a competition open to surfers of all ages and expertise, was held at Oceana Fishing Pier in Atlantic Beach, NC over the weekend.
As East Coast residents with a shared love of the water and a passion for helping others, our team of social media and digital marketing experts rode the wave of opportunity to help increase awareness of this incredible event and support this great foundation that works tirelessly to carry on the legacy of Buddy.
The Buddy Pelletier Surfing Foundation is dedicated to supporting the community through both humanitarian aid and scholastic aid. Making a difference and helping his fellow surfers was at the core of Buddy’s beliefs and that generous spirit has lived on for nearly two decades, and will continue to do so through “Buddy’s Buds,” a way in which surfers communicate if/and when there is someone in need during catastrophic times. Buddy also believed in the power of education and that educating yourself is the key to growing and thriving in this world. This strong passion for expanding knowledge and giving back is the reason The Buddy Pelletier Foundation awards a minimum of three scholarships per year to members of the East Coast surfing community.
